About Charlie Thompson
My love for sports therapy developed through my adolescent years when I picked up various injuries and was seeking professional help. The superior knowledge and skills used to treat and manage injuries fascinated me and inspired me to learn the trade myself so that I too could help others overcome injuries and complications.
I grew up locally and am known by many people within the surrounding areas. I attended the Colne Community School and College in Brightlingsea for seven years before studying sports therapy at the University of Essex for three years. During my time at university I learnt and developed a large database of knowledge alongside up to date specialist skills taught by highly qualified and respected sports therapists, osteopaths and strength & conditioning coaches.
I graduated with a degree in BSc (Hons) sports therapy. I am fully insured and a member of the Society of Sports Therapists. I am continually updating my knowledge and use modern, proven and up to date techniques.
I also work with the Colne Community School and College Sports Academy where I prevent, treat and manage injuries as well as providing pitch side first aid during matches. Outside of work I am a competitive and popular sportsman who plays football, basketball and cricket locally, and have done since childhood. I play most of my football in the Thurlow Nunn premier division and have appeared in the Ryman league several times.
